Brakes
Brake Disc Replacement
Most modern vehicles will have disc brakes on the front wheels, some even have discs at the rear as well. As an integral part of the braking system on your vehicle, it is imperative that your brake discs are above the recommended wear levels, allowing your brake system to work fully and stop your vehicle.
Due to the Brake pads being such critical parts, all work on them should be carried out by highly skilled and trained mechanics, to ensure that there is no risk of total brake failure from poor work.
At one stop we will always renew brake pads in complete sets to avoid uneven braking for your vehicle.

Brake Pad Replacement
If your vehicle uses disc brakes, then it will have brake pads within its braking system, on each wheel. The brake pads are used when you apply pressure to the brake pedals, then these pads are forced onto the brake discs, causing the vehicle to slow down.
How will I know if they need replacing?
If your car is seeming to take longer to slow down, or you feel that they should be more responsive, then this would be a good indicator that your brake pads are wearing down. Or if your car has this function, then the brake warning light on your dashboard will flash on.
Another key indicator is if your brakes are making that 'squeaking' noise, or a grinding noise when you brake.
If your car is doing any of these things then don't hesitate to give us a call and we'll check it out for you and get it fixed.

Car Door Lock Cylinder Replacement
A door lock cylinder is the tumbler inside the door that the key is used to unlock. They are usually found in older models of vehicle, and since central locking has been widely used, most vehicles no longer require these as the main form of unlocking a vehicle.
There are normally 2 in a car, one on the drivers, and one on the passengers side doors. As these are used regular they can wear out and fail.
How can I tell if it's broken?
The way to tell if it is the door lock cylinder that is broken, is if only one of your doors will not open by using the key. If more won't open then it could either be the key, or the central locking system.
Don't worry, we fix both door lock cylinders and central locking systems, just give us a call and we'd be happy to help.
